Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 5, 2026
TL;DR: NotchForge respects your privacy. We run completely offline, do not require registration, and collect zero personal information, health logs, or acoustic data. Everything stays on your device.
1. Offline-First Architecture
NotchForge is built to run entirely offline on your iOS device. All notched-noise therapy configurations, distress journal logs, timer settings, and sound layer mixes are processed locally using Apple's SwiftData. We do not run backend servers, and we never sync, transmit, or sell your data.
2. Device Permissions
The application may ask for the following standard iOS permissions depending on how you use it:
- Notifications: Used strictly to alert you when your session timer expires. You can decline this permission and still use all sound therapy features and calculators.
3. Local Storage and Backups
Your distress ratings, center frequencies, and custom profiles are stored securely in your device's sandbox database. If you back up your iOS device via Apple iCloud, your data may be backed up to your personal iCloud account in accordance with Apple's standard security policies. We do not have access to these backups.
4. Diagnostics and Crash Logs
To keep NotchForge stable and bug-free, we utilize Apple's standard diagnostic reporting. If you choose to share diagnostics with developers in your iOS settings, we receive anonymous crash reports that contain no identifying details or custom frequency details.
5. Third-Party Websites
Our app does not display advertisements or include third-party trackers. Any external links open in your default browser and are subject to their respective terms.
6. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Any adjustments will be posted here. Since we do not collect contact details, we recommend checking this page periodically or reviewing updates in the App Store release notes.
