TL;DR: BootWright is built from the ground up to protect your private data. All details about your boot collection, wear counts, drying times, care history, and uploaded images are processed and stored exclusively on your local iOS device. We do not collect, transmit, share, or sell your data.
1. Offline-First & Local Storage
BootWright operates on a local-first model. All created data (including boot details, wear history, care sessions, drying timers, and attached photos) is saved locally using Apple's native SwiftData framework. We do not maintain cloud databases or remote servers, and we never transmit your private collection information over the network.
2. No Account Creation Required
We do not require accounts, logins, passwords, or emails. You can open the app and start tracking your collection immediately. There is no user profiling or registration data stored by us.
3. No Cloud Syncing
BootWright does not synchronize its database through CloudKit or any other cloud service. Your collection history remains strictly on the device where it was created.
4. Complete Data Ownership
You maintain full ownership of your data. The data remains securely stored in the application directory on your device. Deleting the application will remove all local data, as is standard with offline iOS apps.
5. Zero Third-Party Trackers
BootWright is completely free of advertisements, tracking scripts, and external analytic SDKs. We receive anonymous crash reports from Apple only if you have consented to share diagnostics in your global iOS system settings. These reports contain no personal information or private data.
6. iOS Device Permissions
Depending on how you use BootWright, the application may request the following system permissions:
- Photo Library: Optional. Used to attach custom photos of your boots. The selection and rendering of images are handled entirely on-device via Apple's native PhotosPicker API.
- Notifications: Optional. Used to schedule local alerts reminding you when a boot drying timer has completed. These are scheduled locally and do not use a remote push notification server.
7. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to align with new iOS features or App Store guidelines. Any updates will be published on this page. Because we do not collect contact details, we suggest checking this policy occasionally or reading the App Store release notes.
